By a little walk, leaving from Campo de'Fiori you can easily reach the most important historic monuments in Rome, such as Piazza Navona, San Pietro, the Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, the famous Piazza di Spagna and the popular Trastevere urban district. One among the most typical squares, being symbol of the Eternal City, is Piazza Navona. It is elliptically shaped because of the will of Emperor Domitian. In fact, he wanted to build in such place a stadium, where plays could be carried out. The stadium was impoverished of its marbles by Constantine, until it was completely decade. It came back to life during the Renaissance by means of Pope Innocence X, which let it become one of the most important touristic places. The square counts 3 fountains: Fontana dei Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) by Bernini, Fontana del Moro (Moor Fountain) and Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune).
